Students' mathematical representation ability in terms of field dependent and field independent cognitive styles of Quadrilateral Flat material

چکیده

Eld-independent cognitive styles in solving problems on rectangular shape material. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, namely by interpreting data with the stages image analysis, interviews, observation, and documentation. The subject this study was taken purposive sampling after carrying out GEFT test class V where 4 samples were based field dependent independent styles. instruments prepared questions mathematical representation questions. From results it shows that: 1) students who have a style carry representations visually are not always able to make pictures symbols problem expression can models perform calculations according what has been taught teacher accurately or think globally without making new discoveries written less solutions logical systematic words. 2) visualization understand change form images accordance that understood plans for their own way experience which considered fast average express words manner.
